Stages of Dental Implant Procedure:

  1. Initial Consultation:

    • The dentist or oral surgeon assesses the patient’s dental health to determine suitability for implants.

    • The procedure is explained, and the patient’s questions are answered.

  2. Treatment Plan:

    • A customized treatment plan is developed, outlining the necessary steps and timeline.

  3. Tooth Extraction (if needed):

    • If the damaged or missing tooth is still present, it may need to be extracted before placing the implant.

  4. Implant Placement:

    • The implant is surgically placed into the jawbone.

    • The surgeon makes a small incision in the gum tissue to access the jawbone and drill a hole for the implant.

  5. Osseointegration (Bone Fusion):

    • Over the next few months, the implant fuses with the jawbone, creating a strong foundation for the replacement tooth.

  6. Abutment Placement:

    • Once fusion is complete, a small connector (abutment) is placed on top of the implant to hold the crown securely.

  7. Dental Impression:

    • A custom impression is taken to create a replacement tooth that perfectly fits the patient’s mouth.

  8. Crown Placement:

    • The artificial tooth (crown) is attached to the abutment, completing the procedure.

  9. Follow-Up Appointments:

    • The patient will need to visit the dentist for check-ups to ensure proper healing and functionality.
